Community uses Tux and Tails to give back
DEARBORN, MI. – The Dearborn community is holding Tux and Tails, a banquet for owners and pets to dress up and support Fred Danville in the reestablishment of Fred’s Pets.
Danville is the owner of Fred’s Pets, which was destroyed by a fire Monday, Jan. 23.
The fire killed several animals and caused others to have damage from smoke inhalation.
Danville’s insurance will cover the cost of the facilities however; it will not cover the vet bills or animals for adoption.
The banquet is black tie for both owners and pets. There will be contests for best dressed pet, best dressed matching couple and more. The cost is $100 per owner and pet.
The Dearborn Marriot donated the banquet hall as well as the food.
“Fred is an outstanding guy so we want to help out any we can,” said Donna Night, spokesperson of the Marriot.
The Dearborn Animal Shelter worked closely with Fred’s Pets before the fire. They are now helping to promote the event and will have animals available for adoption at the event.
“Fred treats animals so well," said Andrew White, volunteer at the Dearborn Animal Shelter. "He deserves to be able to do what he loves and that’s our goal with Tux and Tails,” said Andrew White, volunteer at the Dearborn Animal Shelter.
